So You Want To Adopt Your New Best Friend

Bridge to Bridge Animal Rescue in St James will consider adoptive families in St. James Parish or any of surrounding areas. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the animal's background and your family's needs. Every animal is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right animal with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.

OUR PROCESS

Apply

We appreciate you wanting to bring a animal into your home. In order for us to find the right pet for you, we need you to submit an adoption application.

Review

We will review your application upon receipt. If we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you for clarity.

Home Visit

Once your application review is complete, a Bridge to Bridge Animal Rescue in St James volunteer will contact you to discuss the next step. We may contact you via email, phone call or text message. On occasion a  home visit may be required, all animals are unique and some may require special screening to ensure they are being placed into the right environment.  All household members must be present during the home visit including  pets.

Finding Your Pet

Once your application is approved. a animal  Volunteer will send you a contract to sign and then you will be prompted to pay the adoption fee. Once this is completed, animal will be in touch to arrange the move in of your new furry family member

Additional Information

 

  • Bridge to Bridge Animal Rescue in St James is a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization. We will make every effort to respond promptly  but please be patient with us…the animals need our time too.
  • All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all shots
  • Adoption fees range from $25 (cats) to $50(dogs), However fees could be more depending on the needs of the animal in the rescue.
